Israeli Palestinian Conflict

LINES OF DEMARCATION: Where should the border between Israel and Palestine be drawn?
The Two State Solution: Israel becomes its own country and Palestine becomes its own country.

HOUSING SETTLEMENTS: How do you propose settling the unresolved dispute over Israeli Housing settlements into the west Bank? What should be done about the housing settlements that have already been built?

JERUSALEM: Jerusalem is a Holy City to Jews, Muslims, and Christians. How do you propose to make Jerusalem available and safe to all these groups of people worldwide?

PALESTINIAN REFUGEES: As a result of the military conflicts in 1948 and again in 1967, hundreds of thousands of Palestinian people fled out of the borders of Israel to the neighboring Gaza Strip, West Bank Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon. They are a people without a country and have not been allowed to become citizens to the countries they fled to. Since 1967, their numbers have increased into the millions because of birthrates. What should their rights be? Should they be allowed to return to their homeland in the west bank (which is not big enough to handle that many people)? What are some compromises that can be made between Israelis, Palestinians, and the neighboring countries to resolve this issue?
The Right of Return: The right of people to return to the country that you came from.

Current/Past Issues

 1. US EMBASSY IN ISRAEL
- In Tel Aviv
- Question: Should the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem?
- If they move then it is saying that Jerusalem is the capital.

2. CATERPILLAR TRACTORS IN ISRAEL
- America gains business from the transaction with Israel for selling equipment to build walls
- It was so bad, people were dying, that Caterpillar had to retract
- The same thing goes for military equipment

3. ZIONIST CHRISTIAN SUPPORT OF ISRAEL
- Christian people believe that if the Jews control Israel Jesus will come down again and the rapture will begin.

Tripod Mug

Image
Tripod mug Insert pre fire photo here: Construction What skills, techniques, or process did you employ to create your mug? I used the reductive technique. I carved out designs into the sides of the piece and worked my not all the way up it. How does your final construction look? Also describe the difficulties in construction. My final construction is a little lopsided but other than that I think that I really like how it turned out. I struggled a little with the undulation of the mug and the lid but in the end it turned out okay. Glazing Insert Pre fired Glaze photo: Insert your post fire Glaze photo: Glaze Record and technique: 3 Coats Cherry Blossom Celadon (overall) 3 Coats Arctic Blue Potters Choice (band around the top) Final thoughts about your mug with a selfie out of your mug in the cafeteria: I really enjoyed this project and I’m happy that I get to use this mug in the future because I made it! I think it turned out a lot better than ...

Final Reflection

Image
CERAMICS FINAL REFLECTION Photo of final glaze piece Final thought on the best parts of this piece. Project 1 I thought that the best parts of this piece were the inside glazing and the small diamond detail I added to the front. I actually put a lot more care into these parts than any other part of the piece and I think that they ended up turning out better because of that. Project 2 I liked how the details on the body turned out  on this piece. I used slip trailing to get it to look the way that I wanted it to look. With the glazing it pops a little and I’m very proud of it. Project 3 I used the mug for the first time and I got really giddy and excited because, “Oh my god I made this alkshfla.” I really liked how the glazing worked with the carvings I had. You can see them clearly on the bottom but they’re more obscured on the top and it gives it this really cool effect. Project 4 This shoe was difficult but eventually I got it mostly right I t...

My Independent Writing Project: The School of Fighting Arts Against Demonkind

Author’s Note Dear Reader, The idea for this may seem a bit strange at first, but I urge you to give it a shot. It’s not as weird as you think. It came to me in the middle of class while I was discussing a different topic in a critique group. So many people at SAS are mixed, part Asian, part something else; I began to think: what if there was a girl just like that in a story? And, of course, not just your typical coming of age story where the girl finally comes to terms with being half one culture and half another. More of a girl who knew who she was but was held back because people were scared of her. And thus the character Amani Kearny was born. Writing her was fun and after a certain point, it was like I wasn’t typing. There’s a certain way Amani talks — loads of sarcasm along with the barest hints to what she actually feels— that makes her feel like a lot of the people that I talk to on a daily basis. Which is most likely why it was so interesting. If I had...
