Self Portrait

Image
So this was my grid self-portrait. Getting to this end piece was a bit of a process: first I had a photo taken of me, then I had to edit the photo to make it black and white and a bit easier to draw. After that I had to draw a grid over the picture as well as over the paper I would be drawing on and from there I would be filling in each square with the proper values. I think something I really like about this is that if you look at the top half it genuinely resembles me. The one thing I really wish I could improve on though is the teeth and the mouth. This one was definitely the most difficult of the two, but I still managed to finish! The steps for this were actually quite simple. I would have liked to improve the background and give the drawing some depth to make the scene look real and the apple look 3D. This was my draft where I practiced how to use the drawing technique triangle. Triangle is when you have one object in front of two others in a triangle formation. Out of all the ones I tried this was the most successful since I was able to capture the contour of the of the objects and place them in a way that was visually interesting. ...
