Color Pencil Drawing
The color pencil project! I thought that this project was really fun, although it was kind of difficult. The holiday that I was showing was my birthday. My mom has the tradition of coming to our rooms and hanging up banners and giving us a cake before we head off to school (my birthday has been during the school week for the last forever). This drawing is that. I think that during this project my strength lied a lot in my composition. When we were giving each other feedback I got a lot of compliments on it and I also think that the placement does a good job of showing off all the elements that I tried to incorporate. I did struggle a lot with the shading. I wasn't able to make good use of darker values and while I did get compliments on the color scheme something that I could work on would be using more contrast in order to make sure that every element had its place and that the main focus (the cake) didn't just fade into the background.
