Bill of Rights Presentations

1. Freedom of the Press

  • Press is allowed to write whatever he would like
  • Without it there is limited thinking in the entire nation
  • Since it is a basic right the public is scared that it might be taken away with the Trump presidency. 

2. Freedom of Speech

  • Not being able to learn anything but American history is stupid and people are protesting using the freedom of speech to change it
  • They keep it because of patriotism 
  • Freedom of speech should be able to learn everything about America or they should teach them about the world
  • Freedom of speech allows you to speak and say whatever you want to say

3. Freedom of Assembly

  • You are allowed to go and protest whatever you think
  • Occupy wall street is a large protest that wasn't really effective
  • It was good to be able to protest and speak what was on their mind

4. Freedom to Petition

  • Protestors are allowed to get groups and send the government the reason they don't like an official ruling 
  • If the people can get a large amount of people to agree it may change the government's ruling

5. Freedom of Religion

  • There will be no laws against any religion 
  • Invading someone's privacy on the basis of religion is against the law
  • All religions are accepted

Tripod mug Insert pre fire photo here: Construction What skills, techniques, or process did you employ to create your mug? I used the reductive technique. I carved out designs into the sides of the piece and worked my not all the way up it. How does your final construction look? Also describe the difficulties in construction. Final Reflection

CERAMICS FINAL REFLECTION Photo of final glaze piece Final thought on the best parts of this piece. Project 1 I thought that the best parts of this piece were the inside glazing and the small diamond detail I added to the front. I actually put a lot more care into these parts than any other part of the piece and I think that they ended up turning out better because of that. Project 2 I liked how the details on the body turned out  on this piece. I used slip trailing to get it to look the way that I wanted it to look. With the glazing it pops a little and I’m very proud of it. Project 3 I used the mug for the first time and I got really giddy and excited because, “Oh my god I made this alkshfla.” I really liked how the glazing worked with the carvings I had. My Independent Writing Project: The School of Fighting Arts Against Demonkind

Author’s Note Dear Reader, The idea for this may seem a bit strange at first, but I urge you to give it a shot. It’s not as weird as you think. It came to me in the middle of class while I was discussing a different topic in a critique group. So many people at SAS are mixed, part Asian, part something else; I began to think: what if there was a girl just like that in a story? And, of course, not just your typical coming of age story where the girl finally comes to terms with being half one culture and half another. More of a girl who knew who she was but was held back because people were scared of her. And thus the character Amani Kearny was born. Writing her was fun and after a certain point, it was like I wasn’t typing. There’s a certain way Amani talks — loads of sarcasm along with the barest hints to what she actually feels— that makes her feel like a lot of the people that I talk to on a daily basis.
